Body parts found might be Peter’s

ENGKILILI: Suspicion that Peter Heerema Sadan, 13, must have been attacked by a crocodile at Tekalong here recently gained traction following the grim discovery of body parts by the police at Lingkang River, Ulu Telakong, late Friday.

Lubok Antu district police chief DSP James Johnathan said the bones and stomach innards were collected and rushed to Sri Aman District Hospital for analysis.

The main aim is to confirm whether they belonged to Peter.

“We have not established whether the body bits are human … something which we can link to the missing victim,” he said when contacted yesterday.

Nonetheless, he said police and the Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba) would carry on with their search and rescue operation.

Peter was reported missing last Tuesday. He was last seen bathing at the river with his stepbrother Kelimin Bayang around 4.30pm that day.

He had lived with his grandfather Derin Malong after his parents divorced. Kelimin also lives with Derin.
