Hyundai wins BrandLaureate BestBrands award in Automotive Sedan category

KUCHING: Hyundai was named BrandLaureate’s BestBrands in Automotive (Sedan) 2011-2012 for excellence in Corporate Branding at a  recent awards night held at the Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa.

According to the president of BrandLaureate, Dr KK Johan, the BrandLaureate Award is only given to the best brands that have delivered their brand promises, ensured good brand values as well as to those that have good social and business conduct.

“Hyundai was selected as winner by a panel of judges with the approval of BrandLaureate’s board of governors. Hyundai won because it has met the criteria of winning this award and also displayed the best branding practices that have contributed to the organisation’s growth,” said Johan.

The marketing and branding efforts by Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Sdn Bhd (HSDM) for both the YF Sonata and MD Elantra has brought about this achievement.

“We wouldn’t have achieved this without the team’s great effort and the inspirations that we received from Hyundai Motor Company as well as our customers,” said Lau Yit Mun, managing director of HSDM.

HSDM’s success came about when it first launched the YF Sonata in July 2010 together with Hyundai’s new brand direction and slogan.

Through ‘New Thinking. New Possibilities,’ Hyundai hoped to demonstrate its commitment to provide its customers and society with greater possibilities through new thinking about cars and its services. ‘New Thinking. New Possibilities’ is not only reflected in the cars that Hyundai produces but also in the services that are being extended to all Hyundai customers.
