Boy placed on good behaviour bond for molest

KOTA KINABALU: The Children’s Court here placed a 16-year-old boy on two years of good behaviour bond of RM2,000 with RM500 to be deposited and two local sureties for molesting an 18-year-old girl.

Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus also ordered the boy to be placed under Ranau police supervision for two years.

She convicted the boy of the offence after he pleaded guilty to molesting the girl in a bush in a village in Penampang about 9.30pm on March 8, this year.

The boy was convicted under Section 354 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to 10 years, or with a fine, or whipping, or with any two of such punishments.

Meanwhile in the Magistrate’s Court here, a 51-year-old local man was fined RM2,000, in default, four months’ jail for taking syabu.

Cindy also ordered Idris Kasbulah from Inanam to be placed under police supervision for two years.

The accused pleaded guilty to taking the syabu at Karamunsing police station about 10.30am on April 27, this year.

The charge comes under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which provides for a fine not exceeding RM5,000 or a jail term of up to two years, or both, on conviction.
