KUCHING: Celcom is now focussing on innovative mobile healthcare solutions to dispense medical services more efficiently in the state.

Celcom Axiata Berhad chief business solutions officer Jefri Ahmad Tambi said mobile healthcare solutions are transforming patient care by using mobile technology to
assist medical professionals in areas such as cardiology, gynaecology, radiology and neurosurgery.

“Healthcare professionals can now treat patients wherever they are with mobile solutions and network technologies from Celcom.

“Health organisations can now optimise their efficiency so even those in rural areas will be able to receive the help they need. By applying our mobile expertise to healthcare, Celcom can transform patient care across the country.

“We are fully committed to helping healthcare providers in this remarkable journey of transformation, making Malaysia a happier and healthier nation,” he told the press yesterday at the 10th International Scientific Meeting of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists.

Celcom’s booth at the event offered its latest tablets and smartphones with the new association plans and health/medical content exclusively designed for medical practitioners.

Worldcare Health (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd executive director Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Khairuddin Yusof, who presented a short talk on the technology, said doctors in rural areas could transfer data, information and images using tablets and smartphones to specialists in hospitals in the city to seek help and advice in the quickest time possible.

“People in rural areas can have better healthcare access because healthcare providers can dispense medical services efficiently.

“With this technology, many lives can be saved,” he said.

A statement distributed to the press said through strategic partnerships and leveraging on latest technologies, Celcom solutions have made headway across target business segments by offering intelligent integrated machine to machine (M2M) solutions such as automotive telematics, track and trace, remote smart metering, security surveillance, point of sales and payment systems, remote monitoring, delivering innovative solutions, greater business efficiency and cost savings across industries, institutions and company sizes.
