KUCHING: Beefcake Melvern Abdullah from Kuching won the ‘Champion of Champions’ title and was crowned the ‘2012 Mr Sarawak’ at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) auditorium here last Saturday.
Melvern, dubbed the ‘Ronnie Coleman of Sarawak’, instantly became a hit with the crowd the moment he stepped on the stage to compete in the Lightweight category. His huge frame and well sculptured physiques immediately tagged him as the firm favourites for the prestigious title.
Interestingly, this was well before participants from the heavier division shows their stuff.
Melvern’s closest rival to the ‘Champion of Champions’ title was Mohd Azizul Ghani who took Best Poser award and first place in the Welter-weight division.
