Razali triumphs at Mrussang golf tourney

KUCHING: Seasoned campaigner Major Razali emerged overall champion in the nett category of the Mrussang Enterprise Gawai Golf Tournament held at Prisons Golf Club last weekend.
Razali, who has a handicap of 13, edged Jonas Teo (handicap 14) into second place by four strokes. Coming in third was Asan Odau while Munyang Kemundan in fourth, followed by Fabian Mike in fifth and Winton Ng in sixth, each trailing by a solitary stroke.
Gross champion was Dominic Josip who led the pack with a single stroke after carding a 73 followed byJabing Bujing (74), William Manggol (75) and Ahmad Hamdan (76).
In the invited Guests category, Jeffery Parang took the first place by registering a nett score of 61 followed by Sipol Ambun in second and Fabian Marip third.
Other winners in the Invited Guest Gross category were Kilah Deng followed by Yahir Sait and Albert Tanon, all with 75 (OCB).
Seventy two top local golfers took part in the one-day event organised by Mrussang Enterprise in conjunction with the Gawai festival.
Minister of Social Development Tan Sri Datuk William Mawan, Assistant Minister of Public Utilities Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi and state asemblyman for Batang Ai, Malcom Mussen Lamoh, were among those who took part in the VIP category.
