TAMBUNAN: An exciting package of job offers, training and higher learning, as well as live entertainment by local artistes await those who attend tomorrow’s Mini Job Fair at Pisompuruan Square, here.

Coincidentally, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak would be at the same venue to launch the proposed KDM College as well as have a meet-the-people session.

The fair organised by the Ministry of Resource Development and IT, has attracted eight prospective employers including Yayasan Sabah and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd as well as 15 institutions of higher learning.

Permanent secretary to the ministry, Bruno Vun said a key attraction would be the participation of the Sabah Techpreneur Association (Sata).

“This NGO will be able to provide guidance on project grants that can be offered to aspiring entrepreneurs with a tagline ‘Tired looking for jobs? Create one!’.

“We are fortunate to be able to host the job fair not only on the same date as the Prime Minister’s visit to Tambunan but at the same venue as well. This is the opportunity for school-leavers to explore various prospects,” he said in a statement.

The Tambunan mini job fair is the first of three similar events to be organised by the Ministry of Resource Development and IT this year; the other two will be held in Beaufort and Kota Kinabalu.

It is open from 8.00am – 4.00pm and attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes. — Bernama
