HARD AT WORK: The Fire and Rescue personnel attempting to extricate the victim’s body.
BINTULU: A 27-year-old man was killed in an accident when the van he was driving collided head-on with a truck’s trailer at Mile 23 Bintulu-Miri coastal road around 12 noon last Friday.
The victim who worked at a restaurant in Parkcity Commercial Square here, identified as Chen Wei San, was stuck in the driver’s seat and died on the spot.
The deceased was said to be on his way from Bintulu to Miri while the truck was heading to Bintulu.
The collision caused the van to overturn on the road while the truck only suffered minor damage to its front.
The truck driver survived in the accident.
A Fire and Rescue team received the distress call and arrived around 12.50pm and within half an hour managed to extricate the body of the victim.
