KUCHING: Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) held a ground-breaking ceremony for the city’s first Nissan 3S showroom on Saturday, aiming to provide a one-stop solution for Sales, Services and Spare Parts to its customers.

During his opening speech, ETCM executive director, Dato’ Dr Ang Boon Beng said, “The new facility sits on a 1.58-acre plot of land located at the intersection of Jalan Pending and Jalan Sungai Priok.”

He also noted that the upcoming 3S Centre would have a total built-up area of 35,200 square feet and would also serve as ETCM Nissan Sarawak’s regional headquarters.

ETCM was spending approximately RM18 million to RM20 million for the new facility which was expected to be completed mid next year.

Ang further added that the 3S concept would provide more comfort and convenience to Nissan customers.

“It will be able to display up to eight vehicles, allowing customers to view a comprehensive Nissan model line-up. While waiting for their vehicles to be serviced, customers can see their cars from the comfort of the customer lounge,” the executive director explained.

It was also highlighted that the lounge would provide facilities such as a coffee bar, television and wireless internet services.

“Featuring the latest Nissan Retail Visual Identity, the new 3S centre would be equipped with 16 service bays, accommodating up to 50 cars per day.”

The ceremony was officiated by Kuching City South Mayor, James Chan Khay Syn who expressed enthusiasm as he noted that ETCM was giving additional attention to Kuching with the construction of this new 3S centre.

Ang added that the construction of the showroom was in line with ETCM’s business expansion plan in East Malaysia as the company aimed to provide a higher level of customer satisfaction through its integrated facility and enhanced hospitality.

He also revealed the regional expansion plans that ETCM had. “Based on our strong achievements in Malaysia, Nissan Motor Co Ltd Japan gave us the Nissan franchise in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. We aim to replicate our Malaysian success in these countries,” he said.
