TRIUMPHANT: Money Come taking the measure of King & King and Show Me The Mioney in Class One over 1000M.

KUCHING: Zorro took its tally to three wins in as many starts with another easy win in Race Four (Class Two — 1000M) on Sunday.

On a fine morning for racing with cloudless blue skies and a constant breeze, the newly-promoted four-year, partnered by E Hamid, left no doubt as to its galloping prowess by crushing a higher class of runners in what looked like a stroll in the park.

The Sara Stable’s racer was kept just off the pace set by Young Generation and Princess Alicia in the early running.

As the field swung for home, Zorro put on wings, coming through smooth as silk on the centre track to win by six lengths in a canter from Princess Alicia with Jojo’s Magic dropping in for third a distance further back.

The winner, trained by Lee Moi Fong, paid RM9 and RM5.

Money Come took the Class One 1000M event in Race Five after a furious three-way tussle in the final 200M.

The 7-year-old, ridden a strong finish by Jasmi Jamar, staved off a strong challenge from King & King (Roslan Bujang) and Show Me The Money (Jamain Bakar) to win by three lengths with a further 2 ½ lengths separating the second and the third runners.

Money Come, owned and trained by Edmund Sim, paid RM38.

Budak Kampung (P Othman) was an impressive winner in Race Two (Class IV – 1000M).

The six-year-old flew home on the outside to win going away by 7 lengths from newcomer Royal Command (Roslan Bujang) with another newcomer Naga Laut (Jasmi Kamar) a distant third.

Budak Kampung returned 1 min 21.1 seconds – 2.4 seconds faster than the time (1 minute 23.5 seconds) of the Class Three winner Raja Muda.

The winner, owned by Sylvester Hon and trained by Lee Moi Fong, paid RM13 and RM7.

The going was good.
