MIRI: A 23-year-old man was fined RM2,000 in default a year’s jail by the magistrate’s court here yesterday for voluntarily causing hurt to his biological father.
Jeckles Jimbun from the Quadruplex in Bandar Baru Permyjaya, Tudan was charged under Section 324 which carries three years’ imprisonment, fine or whipping; or two such punishments if convicted.
The accused had intentionally hurt his father Jimbun Bugil, 44, with an iron rod and television wire at Lot 6285-1-14 Quadruplex, Bandar Baru Permyjaya at 1pm on June 12.
Police investigation revealed that during the incident, the accused was drunk and under the influence of drug. His urine tested positive for methamphetamine.
Jeckles was also found to have hit his younger sibling with a shoe, and slapped his aunt who tried to intervene.
The police learned that the accused was aggressive to his family members, especially when intoxicated.
