Our Leaders knows this exceptionally well yet the preach an entirely different tune to the people. Ok, let us ask where are they sending their children to pursue their higher education? The marketability of our young people depends very much on their ability to communicate well in English .. in Sarawak for that matter. The question-how pragmatic BM is when dealing with the rest of the world apart from Singapore and Indonesia? After all, English is still widely used in the private sector and the government cannot be the employer like last time, so be realistic, BM is not the lingua franca of the world, since Malaysia is an export-oriented country. Right now, we are moonwalking with the current education policies being implemented in Sarawak and Sabah.

No doubt Bahasa Malay is the national language of Malaya, but English is actually the official language of Sarawak and Sabah as per the 18/20-point Agreement signed in 1963.
