Missing woman could be victim of a croc attack

SARATOK: A woman reported missing while bathing in Sungai Sebelak here yesterday afternoon is believed to be a victim of a crocodile attack.

The victim, identified as the wife of longhouse chief, Tuai Rumah Embol from Sungai Anak, Pelunga, Roban was believed attacked by the ferocious reptile which locals know by the name of ‘Bujang Seblak’.

The villagers believe Bujang Sebelak was responsible for killing four persons in recent years. It attacked a few months ago a fisherman from Kampung Melayu Roban identified as Sulaiman Abdullah.

The incident which happened around 5pm yesterday had been reported at Roban Police Station.

The police together with the villagers, Rela members, and other agencies launched a search-and-rescue operation but the victim had yet to be found at press time.
