MUSCLEMAN: Fong (centre) is gearing up for the ‘Mr Malaysia 2012’ event as Chia (fourth left) and Thomas (third right) and others look on.

SIBU: Muscleman Fong Hui Kong has been selected to represent Sarawak at the ‘Mr Malaysia 2012’ contest in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on July 14.

Fong told The Borneo Post at the Sibu Division Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Association here yesterday that it was indeed an honour to be selected in the state team.

Fong was optimistic of his chances as he had previously represented the Sarawak Team for the ‘Mr Malaysia 2009’ in the lightweight category.

“In 2010, I was again enlisted in the Sarawak Team for the ‘Mr Malaysia’ contest and captured third prize,” said Fong who trains six days a week, with each session lasting about four hours.

The 31-year-old bodybuilder also won the ‘Mr Borneo 2010’ and ‘Mr Borneo 2011’ welterweight champion titles.

With him at the gym were association president Chia Soon Cheong and gym master Thomas Lee.
