SIBU: In another move to popularise table tennis here, Sibu Table Tennis Association (STTA) is organising the Sibu Division Veteran table tennis championship at its Ping Pong Stadium in Merdeka Road on July 21 and 22.
The event organising chairman, Desmond Ling said entries are now open for the two–day event aimed to raise the standard of game among the locals as well as to select players to represent Sibu for the coming state Inter-division championship.
The event is divided into men’s and women’s singles with the format of play is on single knock-out basis with medals to be awarded to the top four winners from each category.
For men’s singles, it is further sub-divided into two sections namely the 45 year old and above, 55 year old and above categories while for women’s singles, players must be 40 years old or above.
The entry fee is only RM10 per person and completed forms must be submitted by 4pm on July 13.
