KOTA KINABALU: The government has spent close to RM24.2 million on rebates for the RM20 Electricity Bill Programme since its launch on Oct 1, 2009.

An average of 76,564 domestic customers throughout Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan have enjoyed this rebate in the first four months of this year.

SESB managing director Abd Razak Sallim said the rebate scheme, which gives domestic customers with a monthly bill of less than RM20 month a waiver, is expected to continue until the end of this year.

He said as of May this year, the total number of registered domestic customers in Sabah had reached 390,815. — Bernama
