MIRI: Junior tennis players from Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, Labuan, Sandakan and Brunei, are set to lock horns for tennis supremacy in the Miri Junior Invitation Tennis Tournament to be held here from June 29 to July 1.
The three-day competition is organised to enhance and develop the necessary skills as well as providing match exposures to Miri junior tennis players.
“We truly hope that the players will benefit from the competitive match exposures. Invitations have also been extended to players from the Philippines,” said a spokesman from the organiser, Miri Division Lawn Tennis Association (MDLTA).
He added that tennis enthusiasts in Miri will get to see exciting tennis matches as a number of top junior players are gunning for top honours in the competition.
“We strongly encourage members of the public and tennis enthusiasts to come and witness the thrilling event, and to also render their support. MDLTA also would like to thank the main sponsors – Dunlop, LT Sports and the local establishments who had contributed generously to ensure the success of the tournament,” the spokesman said.
