Cash Sweep FC beat 1Division to qualify for MPP League semis

SIBURAN: Cash Sweep Fc defeated 1Division 4 – 2 in a penalty shoot-out to enter the semi-final round of the ongoing Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Football League.

Both teams had to play the penalty shoot-out after being tied up 2 – 2 in the 120 minutes of play and lady luck was not smiling at 1Division when Abdul Aziz Abdullah and former ATM Premier League player Mhod Patihi failed to convert their chances.

Defending champions, RPR Batu Kawa will meet Armor FC in the other semi-final to be held on June 30.

Meanwhile, Cash Sweep manager Jackson Lim said the penalty shoot-out was a nut cracker but insisted that it the team with better defence who had won.

“ My players did the things they were supposed to do but then we had some luck,” he said on the shoot out where anything can happen and his players deserved to go through next round.

The hardworking 1Division team skipper, Mohd Shukri who is also the league top scorer said his the players had performed very well in the group league matches where they have beaten all the teams and won with an average three goals scored.

Cash sweep FC had participated in the MPP League the last three years and have qualified for semi-finals for the second time.
