Posted on June 29, 2012, Friday

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded their second win at the Qualifying Round of the AFC Under-22 Championship when they defeated Taiwan 4-2 at Aung San Stadium in Myanmar Thursday.

It was Malaysia’s third qualifying round match after losing to South Korea 2-3 last Saturday and demolishing the Philppines 7-0 on Monday.

The squad under coach Ong Kim Swee began aggressively when they opened scoring in the 7th minute through Sabah player Rozaimi Abdul Rahman before Taiwanese player Chen Yen-Jui netted an own goal in the 32nd minute to put Malaysia two goals up.

Rozaimi was on target again when he scored his second goal in the match in the 40th minute before Taiwan hit back through Lin Chang-Lun in the 50th minute. –BERNAMA
