The new Ford Ranger trucks ready for test drive

KUCHING: Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn Bhd (Sime Darby Auto Connexion), the country’s distributor of Ford motor vehicles yesterday launched the All-new Ford Ranger XLT 2.2 litre and 3.2 litre Wildtrak at its showroom at Jalan Pending.

The new Ford Ranger 2.2 litre XLT comes with two variants – automatic and manual transmission, while the new Ford Ranger 3.2 litre Wildtrak comes with automatic. The engine for the 2.2 litre XLT variants are capable of 150PS and 375Nm of torque, while the 3.2 litre Wildtrak is capable of an impressive 200PS and 470Nm of torque.
The models of the new trucks are also available for test drive for the public. The trucks comes with the new Turbo Diesel Commonrail Direct injection engine (TDCi), which delivers all the power with big fuel savings.
It has everything the customer can expect in a truck and takes it one step further. With an all-new stylish interior equipped with the latest entertainment and connectivity technology such as Bluetooth with Voice Control, it is one of the smartest and most advance truck in its class.
In terms of safety, Ford has gone great lengths to ensure that all the new truck is not only capable and stylish, it is also engineered for safety. With passive and active safety features, the truck is engineered to help customers in control and safe. As such, it comes with the maximum ANCAP five star safety rating.
A truck built with no compromise, it was tested in the toughest terrains and climates across five continents to ensure its superior durability. The drivetrain, chassis and suspension were totally redesigned to achieve best-in-class payload and towing capacity.
In addition, the truck has water wading capability of up to 800 millimetre (mm) and superior off-road performance. It comes with impressive payload capacity of up to 1,341 kilogrammes (kg) with load sensing proportionate valve, as well as a towing capacity up to 3,350 kg.
In terms of practicality and comfort, its credential surpass the standards amongst competitors. The new Ford Ranger has over 20 storage areas and rear passenger under-seat stowage, spacious rear diagonal legroom of 902mm and remote keyless entry.
The new Ford Ranger 2.2 litre XLT manual transmission is priced at RM95,188 while the automatic transmission is priced at RM101,188. The 3.2 litre Wildtrak is priced at RM120,888.
