Two IKBN trainees to represent M’sia at Asean Skills Competition

PUTRAJAYA: Two National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) trainees, Chang Wei Ken and Muhammad Saffian Ahmad Sabri, will represent Malaysia in the Asean Skills Competition 2012 (ASC 2012) from Nov 10-18, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Chang, 21, from IKBN in Peretak, Selangor, would participate in the Ladies/Men Hairdressing category while Muhammad Saffian, 22, from IKBN in Alor Gajah, Melaka would participate in the Restaurant Service category.
“We will try our best to bring honour to Malaysia,” said the students when met after the Educational Innovation of Motorsports and Automotive Race 2012 (EIMARace), Innovation Competition for IKBN 2012, closing ceremony, here yesterday.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek fitted special jackets to both participants during the ceremony, which was also attended by IKBN director-general of Skills Development Division, Saari Salleh.
Meanwhile, both Muhammad Saffian and Chang said they would use five months before the competition to practise new techniques in their respective areas to be equipped with cutting edge knowledge and overcome participants from the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia. — Bernama
