SARATOK: The widower of a woman who was killed by a crocodile a fortnight ago is demanding revenge.

Tuai Rumah Embol Asom has engaged renowned Betong bomoh Indet Senabong to hunt down the reptile, known to locals as Bujang Seblak, to avenge his wife’s death.

Siah Munsong, 42, was killed while bathing in Sungai Anak, Pelunga Roban near here.

Armed with a permit issued by the authorities, the villagers led by Indet began their hunt for Bujang Seblak on Monday.

However, as of yesterday they only managed to catch a 2.8-metre male crocodile weighing about 20kg dubbed Bujang Muara and a 2.7-metre female nicknamed Dara Nanga.

When met by reporters, Embol said they had almost caught his wife’s killer with hooks put along the river.

“I believe one of the hooks, which we made using dog meat as bait, had caught the killer crocodile, but unfortunately the rope snapped,” he explained.

The hunt for Bujang Seblak will continue today.

On Wednesday, a resident of Kampung Melayu Roban claimed to have spotted a large crocodile, believed to be Bujang Seblak, surfacing in Sungai Seblak.
