Ex-workshop employee gets six years, 10 strokes for ganja possession

SHAH ALAM: A former workshop employee was sentenced to six years jail and 10 strokes of the rotan by the High Court here yesterday after pleading guilty to an amended charge of possessing 381 grammes of ganja in February.

Justice Datuk Abdul Rahim Uda sentenced Muhammad Hasyiff Abdul Jalil, 19, to an additional two years jail after he also pleaded guilty to possessing 1.62 grammes of syabu.

Abdul Rahim ordered the accused to serve the jail terms concurrently effective from the day he was arrested on Feb 7.

Muhammad Hasyiff committed the two offences in front of a shop at Lorong Pandan Pertama 3, Pandan Utama, Ampang near here at about 9.55pm that day. — Bernama
