Sibu-Lanang tennis tourney calling for entries

SIBU: Entries are called for the Sibu-Lanang Inter-team tennis championship on July 7-9, at Sibu Division Lawn Tennis Association (SDLTA) tennis courts at Bukit Lima Sports Complex here.
Event organising chairman Jeffrey Kang said the championship, divided into three doubles, would be played on a league basis.
“Each team shall only register a maximum of seven players and a player is allowed to play only once in any team match. The winner is to be decided on super-tie-break format, which means one needs to win two sets to be the winner,” said Kang.
If each wins a set, then the first to reach 10 points in the third super-tie-break set wins.
There will not be any seeding and matches will be played through open draws.
“The champion gets RM1,000 and a souvenir, the first runner-up gets RM600 and a souvenir, and the second runner-up gets RM400 and a souvenir. The fourth place winner will only get a souvenir,” informed Kang.
Entry fee is RM150 per team.
All entries must reach the organising committee on or before July 5 at 5pm.
