KUCHING: A 27-year-old man charged with robbery will know his fate July 31.
Sessions Court judge Timothy Finlayson Joel fixed the date after hearing the final submission of the case involving Masnurulmaizan Affendi, 27.
Masnurulmaizan, from Kpg Rantau Pajang, is charged with robbing a 49-year-old woman of her Nokia phone, gold necklace, a pair of gold earring and RM1,000.
He allegedly committed the offence with five persons still at large at Stampin Tengah Road at 11.56am on Nov 21, last year. He is charged under Section 394 (amended charge) of the Penal Code and would risked spending 20 years in jail and liable to whipping on conviction.
ASP Carl Patrick Ramesh prosecuted while Masnurulmaizan was not represented by any lawyer.
