SARIKEI: The pair of Augustine Ling Han Hie and Mohd Safari Morshidi emerged as champions in the Men’s category of the Divisional Land and Survey Landas Club 2012 Closed Doubles Badminton tournament held recently.
In second placing were the doubles combination of Tahan Dor and Wong Chui Liong while Azizul Meramit and Asrizal Amran took the last podium place.
In the Women’s category, the doubles combination of Zurina Shapiee and Dora Francis bagged the title while in second place were the pair of Leong Cheong Yaw and Yung Ngam Kam.
The main objective of the competition was to select the best players to represent the club at the upcoming Divisional Sarawak Government Services Welfare Recreational Council (MAKSAK) badminton tournament.
Prizes were presented by the divisional superintendent of Land and Survey Department who is also LANDAS Sarikei Chairman, Ngu Tai Kong.
