LAHAD DATU: The Magistrate’s Court here yesterday sentenced a local man to nine months’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to taking Methamphetamine and Amphetamine.
The sentence was ordered to be served from the date of arrest.
Roslan Bin Itta, 30, was jailed after he pleaded guilty to committing the offence at Lahad Datu town area on May 20.
Session Court Judge M.Rajalingam who sat as Magistrate charged the accused under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drug Act.
Inspector Soffi Jalal while prosecuting told the court that the accused was arrested at District Narcotic Office on May 20, at about 1.21pm, after his urine tested positive for drug abuse.
The judge also ordered him to be placed under police supervision for three years after serving his sentence.
