KOTA KINABALU: A 42-year-old local mechanic claimed trial in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday to a charge of verbally threatening his neighbour.
Zaindy Jasman who appeared before magistrate Herlina Muse, was charged with making a verbal threat to a 43-year-old man at an unnumbered house in Kampung Dumpil, Putatan at 8am on July 3.
The charge which comes under under Section 506 of the Penal Code is punishable by a jail term of up to seven years, or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Herlina set August 16-17 this year for Zaindy’s trial and ordered him to be further held in custody pending disposal of his case.
Prosecuting officer Inspector Azaman Hamat earlier objected to bail as the accused might tamper with the complainant who resides at the same village as Zaindy.
