SANDAKAN: A plan for a bird’s nest museum here is in the works and to be undertaken by Sabah Bird’s Nest Association (SABA) in collaboration with AMG Enterprise.

AMG Enterprise founder Woo Tiam Onn said the museum could educate the public and tourists on the bird’s nest industry which is currently growing rapidly.

He said efforts were already on the way to ensure the museum’s establishment which he believed could encourage the public to delve

into the bird’s nest business and subsequently spur economic growth.

The museum, said Tiam Onn, would introduce the bird’s nest industry’s potential for the ecosystem while at the same time reap lucrative rewards for future businessmen.

Tiam Onn, who is a bird’s nest entrepreneur in China, met reporters after visiting SABA chairman Datu Mond Faisal Datu Bachtiyal in his office at Sandakan Harbour Square here on Wednesday.

The bird’s nest industry would boost economic growth, especially in the rural areas that are involved, said Tiam Onn.

“When completed, the museum will be a tourist attraction in Sandakan. Visitors will be fascinated by the internal design of the museum that will resemble a bird’s nest.

“I believe this museum will be popular and will become a must-see

destination for visitors who are interested in the bird’s nest industry,

especially those undertaken by my company, AMG with SABA Enterprise and Motion Borneo,” he added.
