KUALA BELAIT: Based on information received from the public, a 54-year-old Filipino maid, suspected of being involved in 4D gambling, was detained by the Belait District’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on July 11 at a house in the Panaga Seria residential area, Borneo Bulletin reported.

When the officers arrived at the house, a betting slip was found on her and therefore she was brought to the CID headquarters for further investigation.

Meanwhile, a bundle of betting slips and some stationery, such as a book with lottery numbers, as well as pens and calculators, were also found. The amount collected from the bets was estimated to be $70. The maid’s involvement in gambling was reportedly without the knowledge and consent of her employer.

She was later brought to the RBPF headquarters for further investigation and is currently released on bail. If proven guilty, she will be prosecuted under Section 4 (C), Chapter 28 of the Common Gaming House.
