Nuraztil walked home with the RM150 first prize as well as a certificate.

Runners-up Noob Stuff, a mixed martial arts and hip-hop dance group, comprising Johnny Bong, Douglas Bong, Leong Puak Han and Wilson Loong, received RM100 while the duet by siblings Mohd Radzi Harith and Irdina Farisha Shairin who sang Jessie J’s hit single Price Tag, received RM50 for third spot.

Yo yo player Jerome Lim finished fourth followed by Flecia Angel in fifth spot with her rendition of Adele’s Someone Like You.

The judging was based on the scores given by the judges (60 per cent) and the audience (40 per cent).

The families, friends and supporters of the performers were also entertained to special shows put up by the panel of judges comprising students Maria Rose, Flamo and Marverne Chia.

Maria performed Celine Dion’s I Surrender, Jennifer Hudson’s Love You I Do and Beyonce’s powerhouse hit Listen.

Flamo, consisting of Andy Chong and Chai Koh Khai, did their upbeat hip-hop routine while Marverne serenaded the appreciative audience with Michael Buble’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

The school head prefect, Chua Tao Phiaw also performed Christina Aguilera’s motivational piece called Beautiful.

The object of the annual event, organised by the school’s prefectural board, was to raise funds and serve as a platform for the students to show their creative talents.

The organising committee was guided by their English teacher Evelyn Ng.

“We record our appreciation to the principal Putit Haji Ped for his continuous support of the board’s year-long activities,” she said.
