Yahoo! Malaysia launches special digital Ramadan experience

KUALA LUMPUR: With Ramadan just around the corner, Muslim Internet users in Malaysia now have a new website to experience the Ramadan atmosphere.

Yesterday, Yahoo! Malaysia launched Ramadan Mubarak, a one-stop custom branded experience designed to deliver all relevant information Malaysian Muslims will need during the holy month.

Its sales director, Jon-Tjin Kee said the website would provide spiritual and social messages.

Kee said 70 per cent of Malaysia’s Internet population used Yahoo! Malaysia every month which equalled to about 8.2 million users.

Yahoo! Malaysia’s country editor Marc Lourdes said the content was developed in a holistic way, balancing the Muslim community’s interest in conforming to Islamic values and responding to the users’ lifestyle content.

The website which will be in Bahasa Malaysia, can be accessed at http://my.news.yahoo.com/ramadan_mubarak/.

Yahoo! Malaysia has taken its Ramadan offering to tablets and mobile devices, enabling access to the contents anytime, anywhere.

The features on the website include recipes, spiritual articles, Ramadan bazaar reviews and photos that users can upload and share to be part of the online community during the festive month. — Bernama
