DBKU targets 21 villages for Bubur Lambok programme

KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is targetting 21 villages from the ‘Friendly Neighbourhood’ area to participate in the Bubur Lambok programme to be held on July 28 through the neighbourhood platform.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai said the programme would be held in collaboration with Nestle, Bernas, Petronas and MBSB and would use about RM50,000 to organise the programme in conjunction with Ramadan.

“BGS area (Boyan, Gersik and Sourabaya) has been chosen as the site for the programme’s launching this time around,” he said at a press conference here Thursday.

He pointed out that the Bubur Lambuk programme had been a tradition for the local people especially during the fasting month.

He also explained that the objective in organising this event was to strengthen the ties between the local people and to inculcate the1Malaysia spirit.

During the press conference, Bernas contributed a tonne of rice while Cinqasa contributed RM10,000 and MBSB (RM2,500).
