KUCHING: A youth will be serving two weeks in jail after failing to furnish a RM1,000 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of assisting in concealment of stolen property.
Petrus Mois, 19, from Taman Malihah admitted possessing a gold ring and watch worth RM1,800 reported missing by the owner between 6am and 12 noon on June 28.
The complainant said he returned to his house in the afternoon to find it had been broken into.
Upon checking, he noticed two handphones, a coin box, a gold ring and a watch missing.
The accused said he had bought the gold ring and watch from another man for RM50. He was convicted of a charge under Section 414 of the Penal Code by a magistrate.
