SARIKEI: About 100 stalls offering various delicacies started operation at the Ramadan Bazaar in the open space between the Central Market and the Central Police Station here yesterday.
Unlike the previous years, the Ramadan Bazaar traders were only provided the spaces this year.
According to one of the traders who declined to be identified, they were required to set up their own canopies.
“During the previous Ramadan Bazaars, the local council provided the tents or canopies, but this year we have to buy our own tents,” the trader said.
Some traders decorated their stalls with the Jalur Gemilang and state flags as the Ramadan month coincides with the Merdeka month which was officially launched nationwide on Tuesday night.
