Sarawak darters confident ahead of Malaysia Open

KUCHING: A total of thirteen teams from Sarawak Dart Association (PDNS) will make their debut appearance in the prestigious Malaysia Open Dart Championships in Johor Bahru from Aug 31 to Sept 2.

The association’s president Michael Anding told T he Borneo Post yesterday stellar per formances shown by the darters in recent tournaments has raised plenty of hopes on the chances for the Sarawak players to successfully represent the state in the Malaysian Open.

Michael added that the state cont ingent wi l l not only be competing against champion teams from Malaysia but also internat ional dar ters f rom Thai land, the Phi l ippines , Singapore, the United States and Europe.

“This is a top level competition and our darters are ready for the challenge.”

“This year, we only participate in the team’s events and hope to compete in the singles and ladies categories next year,” informed Michael.

He added that the pair of Gerard George/Eric Wong from Samarahan and the Roslani Salleh/Safri Saidi combination from Kuching can go all the way to the finals stage.
