KUCHING: The late Siti Khuzaimah Anwar was laid to rest at the Kampung Pinang Jawa Muslim Cemetery yesterday afternoon in a burial ceremony attended by more than 100 family members, friends and colleagues.

A post mortem was performed on her remains earlier in the morning at Sarawak General Hospital before it was brought back to her residence at Jalan Haji Babel in Samariang where many relatives and friends had gathered since early morning to pay their last respects.

Among them were Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Islamic Affairs) Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman, Samariang assemblywoman Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Batang Sadong MP Nancy Shukri and Sebiro Holdings chairman Datuk Sng Chee Hua.

Khuzaimah, the eldest of three siblings, was a quantity surveyor engaged by Sebiro Holdings as a consultant. She was recently engaged to Mohd Faitullah Ali, who is attached to the Inland Revenue Board.

They were to tie the knot on Nov 30 this year.

Khuzaimah was among those on board the ill-fated EC120 helicopter en route to Nanga Merit in Kapit before it crashed at the mouth of Sungai Triso near Sebuyau on Friday.

Two other passengers engineer Peter Ato Mayau and architect Henry Loh also perished and their bodies were found on Saturday and yesterday respectively.

Loh was a consultant engaged by Sebiro Holdings.

Meanwhile, Agnes Rangun, the late Peter Ato’s wife, related that Peter recently told her that he could not wait for the school project to be completed and that it caused him stress. Peter was supposed to visit the school site on Friday morning.

“He (Peter) told me that he was having stress and wanted to finish the project as soon as possible,” said Agnes when met at their residence yesterday.

The late Peter will be buried at Kampung Besira Rayang Christian Cemetery in Padawan tomorrow. A special prayer service was held last night.

Those who want to come and pay their last respects to the late Peter can visit the family’s residence at Lorong 1, Jalan Urat Mata, Tabuan Jaya.
