THANK YOU: Margaret (right) presents a memento to Aaron as Wan Mohd Zuki looks on.

SIBU: The ‘Info Bestari’ dialogue session is a platform for 1Malaysia Community (K1M) members to enrich their knowledge about current issues.

Kanowit MP Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the programme also gave opportunity to local people to meet with their elected representatives and voice their problems.

“Other than that, this would enhance the cooperation and foster the unity among K1M members,” he said when he officiated at the dialogue session held at Rumah Margaret Ugak in Sungai Lukut, Kanowit on Saturday.

APPRECIATE THE OLD: Aaron (standing second right) with senior citizens and the contributions they received.

It was jointly organised by Kanowit Information Department and Kanowit MP Service Centre.

Among the activities held were a dialogue session, presentation of incentives to students who obtained excellent results in Penilaian Menengah Rendah, Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and university level, special contributions to senior citizens and a karaoke session.

Aaron said the government wanted to ensure rural people such as those in Kanowit district would continue to be involved in the mainstream development.

“As proof, longhouse folk in Ulu Sungai Ngemah are now enjoying good telecommunication coverage in their area. Besides, the government transformation plan (GTP) would ensure continuous progress in education and infrastructure development in rural areas especially in Sarawak,” he said.

He added the people in Kanowit should be grateful that they were not left out in every development agenda of the present government.

Kanowit Information Department head Wan Mohd Zuki Wan Ismail, Penghulu Juin Adan, Penghulu Barnabas Angkis Luang, Penghulu Liong Wen Khiong, Penghulu Ambrose Digat, Penghulu Ugap Seribu and Tuai Rumah Margaret Ugak were among those present.
