SANDAKAN: A local man was jailed for three years for house breaking.
The magistrates’ court here yesterday meted out the sentence on Raufian Dzul Shab Bin Pastor, 32, who pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 457 of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to five years and a fine upon conviction.
Magistrate Mohd Najmi Daud was told that the accused was arrested on July 15 around 10.50am at Sandakan Police Station after the complainant lodged a police report claiming that his house at Taman Murni, Mile 7, was broken into on July 11.
The accused admitted to having broken into the house through the front door.
The court was told that the accused had stolen a laptop, PSP device and a car key.
The accused sold the laptop to a buyer at Karamunting for RM350 and the PSP for RM100 at Kampung Tabah Baru.
The car key which the accused had thrown by the roadside was recovered by police after the accused was arrested.
However, the accused had spent all the money he earned from selling the laptop and PSP for his daily needs and to buy Methamphetamine.
