KUCHING: Raven New Zealand Education Services (Ravenzes) is inviting the public to attend the upcoming New Zealand Education Fair which it is jointly organising with CT Academic Services, Smarty Tuition Centre and Academic Consultant Services.

According to a press statement from Ravenzes, “The fair will be participated by a number of reputable high schools, institutes of technology and universities from New Zealand.”

It noted that the study information available at the fair would cover the high schools, certificates, diplomas, foundation studies, undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Ravenzes highlighted that students, parents, graduates and academics would find information provided during the fair useful and are welcome to meet up with the representatives from the institutions to discover what New Zealand education institutions have to offer.

According to Ravenzes, PhD studies in New Zealand for international students had the same tuition fees as the local students, ranging from NZ$5,600 to NZ$6,000.

“Dependent children will be classified as domestic students in New Zealand primary and secondary schools. Their spouses will also be able to apply for an open work permit valid for the duration of their course of study,” the press statement added.

It noted further that PhD students would be allowed to work up to 20 hours a week under the terms of the student visa. On completion of the PhD, students could also apply for a one-year open work permit through the country’s immigration department.

The New Zealand Education Fair will be held in Miri on July 25 at the Imperial Palace Hotel, in Bintulu on July 26 at the ParkCity Everly Hotel, in Sibu on July 27 at the RH Hotel and in Kuching on July 28 at Hilton Hotel.

The Fair in Kuching will be held from 1pm to 5pm and the other three venues from 2pm to 6pm. Admission to the fair is free of charge.
