AirAsia X teams up with Tune Box to offer in-flight entertainment using tablet

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia X has teamed up with Tune Box, the digital media arm of Tune Group, to offer the in-flight entertainment (IFE)system, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, onboard all its long-haul destinations.

In a statement yesterday, AirAsia Bhd said guests travelling to/from AirAsia X flights to Australia, China, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan may pre-book the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on its website for only RM35 one way.

“The tablet, which has a long battery life of up to 10 hours, is also available for rent onboard all flights for RM45 one way,” it said.

AirAsia X chief executive officer, Azran Osman-Rani, the airline was always on the lookout for ways to further improve its services and enhance the guests’ in-flight cabin experience.

“The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be a great change to our previous portable e-player as it offers one of the best high-definition screens, sound system and a powerful processor all packed in a sleek yet lightweight tablet,” he said.

Tune Box executive director, Sami El Hadery, said the company was honoured to partner with AirAsia X to deliver a sophisticated yet affordable entertainment system. — Bernama
