Defections a relief for BN – Abd Rahman

KOTA KINABALU: The action of Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin and Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Bumburing joining forces with the opposition is nothing to be upset about.
Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan felt that the announcement was some sort of a joyous occasion for Barisan Nasional (BN).
“This is because now, Umno Beaufort and BN Tuaran can aggressively mobilize their machinery without being bogged down by uncertainties in the last few months created by over-extended and over-dramatic shadow play by them,” he said in a statement yesterday.
According to the Kota Belud Member of Parliament, BN has seen leaders come and go. But learning from the experience, BN has come out standing tall and continue to be the party of choice for the majority of Malaysians.
He said it was clear that people voted for BN and not the individual candidates which Lajim and Bumburing are confused about.
“The people put their trust in the ‘dacing’ which provides solid plans of the future and not on “Primadonnas” who only have self-interest and positions in mind,” he said.
“Umno Beaufort is still very much functional. The division’s deputy chief, vice chief, majority of its committee members, Youth chief, Women chief and Puteri chief and majority of the three wings’ committee members are staying put in Umno. The same with the branch chiefs who are staying with Umno. Clearly Lajim is on his own,” he stressed.
As with other parliamentary and state seats all over the nation, BN is ready to defend Beaufort and Tuaran parliamentary seats and God willing, BN will win them again for the future of the people and for the state and nation, he said.
