SARIKEI: The Barisan Nasional (BN) government will accord due attention towards the maintenance and repair of existing infrastructure and facilities, says Sarikei MP Ding Kuong Hiing.
He said the federal government has allocated a substantial amount of funds annually for the maintenance and repair of roads, bridges and other facilities.
Citing a few examples, he said RM390,000 was allocated to replace the two wooden bridges along Chien Chin Road in
Sungai Bayong near here with iron structures and extended water pipe lines to the Nam Kiew area.
“The people can count on the BN government to have their problems addressed accordingly. The opposition, on the other hand, cannot,” he said during a visit to the two projects which are still under construction.
Accompanying him during the visit were councillor Teng Ung Woo and officers from the local Public Works Department.
