SIBU: A man in his 30s was fined RM4,500 in default three months’ jail by a magistrates’ court yesterday after he pleaded guilty to reckless driving.
The motorcycle he was riding hit and killed an elderly pedestrian.
Geoffrey Bana was charged under Section 43(1) of the Road Transportation Act 1987, which carries a fine between RM4,000 and RM10,000 and a maximum jail term of 12 months on conviction. He paid the fine.
Geoffrey committed the offence at Huo Ping Road here at 6.15pm on March 27, 2010.
