BS Supermart opens second branch in Bau, Kuching

KUCHING: Located strategically in the middle of Bau town, BS Supermart Sdn Bhd (BS Supermart) opens its second branch today.
According to Lai Boon Seng, the owner of BS Supermart, “This is our second store after 11 years. I feel very happy about it. Our first store is in Lundu town, and now we have finally opened the second one here in Bau.”
During the interview, he briefly explained how the store came up.
“The store was named after me. Before BS Supermart, I ran the Two Ringgit shop. Things got better and then I opened the BS Superstore,” he said.
He further added that he chose this line of business because of diversification and it was a progressive step for the company.

When asked regarding why he opened in Bau town, he said that he wanted to provide people in the vicinity with an urban shopping experience.
Furthermore, the store was more organised as each section was labelled clearly and systematically. One of the things that Lai focused on was the convenience for shoppers as everything was provided there ranging from grocery products to hardware products.
“In a way, the supermarket here is a convenient place as it provides almost everything under one roof. Our prices of goods are very competitive as well.
“Our mart here is clean and has a modern look like outlets you see in the main city. We provide a wide variety of things for the local folks here, just like in the main city,” Lai said.
BS Supermart provides fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as cold storage items such as frozen meats and fresh poultry items. It also provides household items such as plastic wares, spices and wide variety of food products.
Location wise, he opined that the location of the store was very strategic. “We are located in the Bau bazaar, as there are more people here. In addition, this location is very convenient as the parking spaces are plentiful.”
Today, the store will hold an opening promotion. There are lots of items up for grabs.
“There are plenty of items on promotion such as plastic wares, food and so on,” he added and welcomed everyone to his superstore.
