KOTA KINABALU: The body of a man was found in a stream along the road near Bandar Sierra, Jalan Tuaran yesterday morning.

Amin Bihing, a 51-year-old local, who was believed to be suffering from epilepsy, was found by a passerby at around 10am, who immediately notified the police.

City police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria confirmed the incident and ruled out foul play.

“We have classified the case as sudden death,” he said.

It is believed that the victim, a scrap metal collector, had a fit and lost control of his bicycle before falling into the drain.

He usually cycled from home in Kampung Lobou in Menggatal to Telipok, to carry out his daily errands. His body was found just about two kilometres from his house.

A family member, who disclosed that the victim had a history of seizures, said he rushed to the scene to identify the victim after being notified that a body was found by the roadside.
