Kelantan PAS government must stop politicising petroleum issue

Posted on August 5, 2012, Sunday

KOTA BAHARU: Change Kelantan PAS Government Movement (Tukar), Kelantan Professionals (KelPro), United Youths Against Corruption(Ombak) and Malay Youths Generation Movement (Agenda) urged the state government to stop politicising the petroleum issue.

The non-governmental organisations (NGO) said this followed the federal government announcement to form a special committee to study cash payment from petroleum revenue to the east coast states of Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu. Their representative, Kamarudin Kassim said the decision showed that federal government was always concerned with the needs and feelings of Kelantan people.

“The Kelantan PAS government must take the cue from federal government and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders by showing more concern with problems faced by Kelantan people,” he said . Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said yesterday, the federal government agreed to form a special committee to study in a fair and transparent manner on the issue of cash payment from petroleum revenue to states in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.— Bernama
