Permanent Resident Arrested In 4D Raid

KUALA BELAIT: Police arrested a male permanent resident suspected of involvement in 4D lottery gambling for further investigation yesterday, Borneo Bulletin reported.

The Belait District Criminal Investigation Department (CID) reported that after it received information on a suspected gambling case on August I, spot checks were carried out at about 3pm on a temporary lodging house at Jalan Puteri Brunei in the district.

During inspection, CID members found the 61-year-old permanent resident in possession of a lottery betting slips, a fax machine, a calculator, two pens and a total of B$309 in cash, which were seized.

However, the man was released on police bail. If convicted he is liable under Section 4 (c) Chapter 28 In House Gambling.
