Leaders who quit Sabah BN have own agenda — Musa

KINABATANGAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the action of two leaders quitting their component party in Barisan Nasional (BN) recently might be due to them having their own agenda.

“If they have a personal agenda (in quitting BN), it’s their right.

“If there are people not willing to be with us in BN anymore, ‘kita biarkan saja si Luncai terjun dengan labunya’ (we just let Luncai jump into the river with his pumpkin),” he said, referring to a Malay folk story.

He was speaking at a breaking-of-fast with Umno leaders and members from Zone 5 comprising the Kinabatangan, Beluran, Libaran, Batu Sapi and Sandakan divisions, here, yesterday.

Recently, Beaufort MP Datuk Lajim Ukin quit all his posts in Umno and BN, while Tuaran MP Datuk Wilfred also resigned from his post in the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKMO).

Musa, who is also Sabah Umno liaison chief, said he accepted the leaders involved in not wanting to be part of BN anymore.

He said their action would not affect Sabah BN, especially in preparing for the coming general election.

“This is because Sabah BN is on the right track in its struggles, particularly in looking after the well-being of the people and in bringing development to the state. This is done through the implementation of various programmes such as the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia to help lessen the people’s financial burden.”

Musa said the BN government was sincere in its struggles for the people by fulfilling its promises made to them. — Bernama
