Cars collide during traffic light failure

KOTA KINABALU: Two women drivers were injured when their Perodua Viva car and Perodua Kancil car collided at the Petagas Road flyover, near Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) yesterday.

It is believed the Viva car, which overturned, was heading for Putatan from the city centre while the Kancil was heading to KKIA from Penampang Road when the collision occurred around 10am.

Both vehicles were believed to be trying to cross the intersection under the flyover when the traffic lights were not functioning.

The two drivers, in their 20′s, suffered minor injuries and were taken in a Civil Defence Department ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
